15 Swiss-American ladies are portrayed in the book "westwärts" written by Swiss journalist Susann Bosshard-Kälin. Among the ladies portrayed are five from the New York area, three of which are members and former board members of the Swiss Society of New York: Margot Amman-Durrer, Rosa Schupbach-Lechner, Linda Geiser, Marion Schlapfer-Brandes and Ellen Carney-Ernst.
The book also contains 4 historical portraits of Swiss women migrants from the 18th & 19th century and an essay about the status of women in the US in the 20th century. These were written by Professor Leo Schelbert from Chicago.

The English version of the book will be published under the auspices of the SAHS by Éditions de Penthes in Geneva in September. We look forward to support the launch of "westwärts" in the United States.
Meet the author Susann Bosshard-Kälin and distinguished women potrayed in the book.
The author will be available to sign all purchased ($20) copies of Westward.
