Mission Statement

The Swiss Society of New York is a private non-profit organization committed to encouraging the extensive historical friendship between the United States and Switzerland through the annual Swiss Society Fellowship and through activities supporting Swiss culture and heritage in the New York Tri-State Area and other regions of the United States.

Goal:

Our goal is to increase interest in Switzerland and its rich culture and heritage as well as the achievements of Swiss immigrants in the United States.

The Swiss Society is primarily active in the immediate New York City tri-state area. It is run by the efforts of a volunteer Board of Directors and Officers.

Our means to fulfill our mission:

  • Serve our members by organizing and supporting a wide range of educational events throughout the year.
  • Organize the annual Swiss Ball, a cornerstone event of the Swiss Society since the 1920's.
  • Recognize a special guest of honor or theme for their achievements at the Swiss Ball.
  • Present the Swiss Society Fellowship Prize, a grant in recognition of and supporting persons or institutions in the field of study of the Swiss Ball guest of honor or theme.
  • Provide a platform to exchange ideas, make new business and personal friends who are interested in Switzerland and its affairs.
  • Support the New York area Swiss National Day celebration.
